Writing Quotes

I learned that you should feel when writing, not like Lord Byron on a mountain top, but like a child stringing beads in kindergarten - happy, absorbed and quietly putting one bead on after another. Brenda Ueland

About Goldie Elston

I came to writing quite late in life. I have always thought about it and even considered doing some sort of a course. The course never happened, but the writing did. Once started I LOVED it! Why I left it so late to start is a mystery to me and something I will always regret. I think I was too busy with other things.

The writing group I belong to is an extremely active group - Fairfield Writers Group - where I have learned technique and the nitty gritty of the craft.

I have self-published a children's book, "Maddie and Mackie Stories" and a book of poems, "Goldie's Poems". Both are available on lulu.com. I have also had a couple of short stories published in the magazine of Fellowship of Australian Writers Queensland.

Hailing originally from Melbourne, Australia I am thoroughly spoilt by our beautiful weather here in sunny Queensland where I live with my husband and gorgeous Cavalier King Charles Spaniel "Tia".
